MSC Trainers

Maggie Maggie Cottier

BSc (Hons) Pure Maths and Computer Science
AAT Accountant, ECDL Advanced
PGCE, Fellow of the Learning and Performance Institute, Associate Member of British Computer Society

Prior to achieving her degree, Maggie tried a number of career routes.  Some of her occupations included opening and managing a playgroup, teaching swimming, managing residential homes for the elderly and also disabled children.

After achieving her degree as a mature student at Newcastle University she extended her working life, studying and qualifying as an accountant in the public sector.  She ventured into IT software training following a number of years working on computer audits.

While teaching Mathematics and IT at Newcastle College she realised that there was a gap in the market for trainers who were able to visit businesses or home users "as and when required".  The rest, as they say, is history.

Alongside her bespoke training workshops Maggie was the designated trainer of Microsoft Office programmes for the University of Northumbria for almost 15 years, delivering sessions for groups of up to 12 staff at a time. Since the Microsoft contract ended she has continued to deliver workshops on in-house packages at the university.

Her breadth of experience in industry and the public sector means that Maggie can also offer a business support service, especially for those who are just starting up and need some practical advice.
